On July 10, 2007, Governor Ruth Ann Minner signed into law a two-year “window” on the statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse. This law allows previously time-barred claims to be filed against perpetrators as well as the institutions whose gross negligence allowed the abuse to occur.
Delaware becomes only the second state in the country to allow victims of childhood sexual abuse the opportunity to seek justice where it was previously denied. If you or someone you know was a victim of childhood sexual abuse in Delaware, you have until July 10, 2009 to file a claim.
